John Woods

John Edward Woods Sr. 62, of Moundsville, W.V. passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024. He was born October 24, 1961, in Glen Dale, W.V. son of the late Charles Sampson & Mona White Woods. He retired from Anwar Eye Center with 36 years of service. John was an avid fisherman, hunter, loved golfing, watching the Steelers, WVU and Pittsburgh Pirates most of all he loved his family.  Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy Woods and Willie Woods. Survived by his loving wife, of 46 years, Frances Nolan Woods, three daughters, Frances (Robert) Vaugh of Weirton, W.V. Debra Lee Woods, of Moundsville, W.V. Samantha Woods of Weirton, W.V. and one son, John E. Woods of Moundsville, W.V.  four sisters, Sheila Wood and Sue (John) Black of Pa., and Lori Woods of Moundsville, W.V. Juanita Lord of Jamestown, NY; brothers, Roger "Ozzie" Woods of Wheeling, W.V. Paul (April) Woods and David Woods all of Moundsville, W.V. Joseph Stern (Hal) of Orlando, Fla.; one special niece, Joyce Ann (Kenny) White of Claysville, Pa. special lifetime friends, Sheila (Les) "Olddad" VanScyoc,   13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and some cousins and one Aunt, Nancy Smith of Moundsville, W.V.
