Joseph Dean "Captain" Harris 62, of Moundsville, W.V. passed away April 12, 2025. Joeph was bornin Glen Dale, W.V. son of the late Dean "Salty" and Dorthy Logsdon Harris.
Joseph was a Christian by faith. Captain was a much-loved gentle soul, Captain was always the life of the party, he was born with a love of music he had a natural talent singing and often entertaining his family and friends, loved to dance, lasso, and answering the telephone and playing jokes to whom was calling, play his guitar on the front porch with his favorite black hat & vest with his sheriff's badge, he had a deep passion for the police officers, he played pool and received a trophy from the Alpine and loved drinking beer.
He was involved in special Olympics, Miracle League. and loved, loved "The Night to Shine" Where he would cut loose and dance the night away with his girlfriend Tammy Stern. He would grin ear to ear doing his little dances and swirls and dance like no one was watching. Despite the odds Joe was born with down syndrome he never let his disability hold him back he lived and loved every moment of his life, thanks from all the support he had from his family, friends and community he never met a stranger, his main goal in life was to find his sister Sharee a husband, who cared for him his whole life. Â
Survived by three sisters, Sharee Sams, Bobbie Jean Ebeling and Jackie (Dan) Fritzman all of Moundsville, W.V. nieces and nephew, Jodi Kupfer, Jamie Sams and Jason and Samantha Fritzman and three great nephews, Garrett and Bryson Hoffman and Rhett Kupfer; and some aunts, uncles and many cousins and his beloved dog in heaven, Josie Rita. Family will receive friends Friday April 18, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of Services at Noon with Pastor Wesley Howsare officiating at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, W.V.
