Mary Ellen Whipkey

Mary Ellen Whipkey 92, of Wheeling, WV formerly of Cameron, WV passed away Thursday October 19, 2023 in Wheeling Continuous Care Center. She was born January 13, 1931, in Moundsville, WV daughter of the late William Joseph and Marie Gamble Riggle. A member of the Cameron First Christian Church. Mary was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, and granny. Employed by State Food Store for many years. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter Whipkey Jr., sister, Evelyn Earnest and brother, Clyde Riggle. Survived by one daughter, Debbie Blake of McMechen, WV and one son, Rex (Shelley) Whipkey of Moundsville, WV; one sister, JoAnn Milliken of Dallas, WV; 4 grandchildren, Amy Whipkey, Andrew Whipkey, Craig (Angie) Blake and Shelby (Casey) Storm and five great-grandchildren, Austin Whipkey, Lucas Blake, Brody Blake, Rilee Storm and Braden Storm and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday October 24, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Howsare officiating at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, WV Interment at the convenience of the family.
