Robert Gorby

Robert Eugene Gorby 75, of Moundsville, WV passed away Saturday June 17, 2023, at home. Robert was born April 1, 1948, in Glen Dale, WV son of the late Ivan Franklin & Jayne Ruth Smith Gorby. A member of the Moundsville Temple Baptist Church. Retired from the West Virginia State Road where he was an Inspector Engineer for 35 years and also Plant & Field Material Supervisor EIT3. He also was very active in Marshall County 4-H for over 20 years, and girls' softball coach (Klug Brothers) for 15 years. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law, Joseph Delbert and sister-in-law, Rebecca. Survived by his loving wife, Nancy Pettit Gorby, one daughter, Nikki Ann (Michael) Anderson of Cannonsburg, Pa. three sisters, Elizabeth Ann (Gene) Estep, Linda Delbert, and Alice (Douglas) Gorby-Martin; one brother, James Gorby and a very special brother-in-law Dan Pettit all of Moundsville, WV; grandson, Jacob Michael Anderson several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great nephews; and special friends Larry (Geradine) Richards and Dolly Gillingham. Brenda Robbins, Ron Sapp and Dale (Cindy) Ward. There will be no visitation at Roberts request. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, WV. Inurnment will be held in Glencoe Cemetery, Ohio.
