Ronald Rex Young

Ronald Rex Young 93, of Glen Easton, W.V. passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at home. Rex did not die of Covid. He was born December 14, 1927 on Pleasant Ridge, Marshall County, W.V. son of the late Isaac and Jessie Young. He was the grandson of the late Dr. William Wayt of Millsboro, W.V. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Airforce serving in World War ll, Korea and Vietnam. He also had a tour in Indonesia. He received his discharge in 1971. Retired from the Marshall County Schools System (Bus Garage). A member of the Cameron American Legion Post #18. A member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rex loved to hunt, gig, play cards and garden. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cyrus, Allen, Mack and Warren Young, sisters, Joyce Cook, Phyllis King and Edith Conte. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine Sompel Young, two sons, Ronald W. Young and Eric J. Young, grandchildren, Travis, Madelyn, Elijah, Zeke & great-granddaughter, Elana and some nieces, nephews and cousins. Family has ask that mask be worn as they receive friends Tuesday January 26, 2021 at the Anderson Funeral Home 1109 2nd St. Moundsville from 4-7 p.m. where a Mass Services will be held Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with Father MSGR. Kevin Quirk, the Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Interment will follow to the St. Joseph Settlement Cemetery.
