Sharilyn Sue (Lyons)McCracken
Sharilyn Sue (Lyons) McCracken 77, of Cameron, W,V, passed away Saturday March 16, 2024. She was born July 26, 1946 in Wheeling, W.V. daughter of the late James and Dorothy Yoss Lyons. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cameron, W.V. where she was the organist for 60 years and the choir director. Sharilyn graduated from West Liberty State College, she immediately began her career as an Elementary teacher in Cameron, W.V. retired after 52 years, Sharilyn commitment to her community was evident through out her love of teaching and was recognized and was named teacher of the year. A member of Marshall County Retired Teacher Association and a lifetime member of the National P.T.A. also a member of Eastern Star Lorraine Chapter of Moundsville, Omega Psi Epsolon Sorority at WLSC and Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher Sorority, she served her community as a lifetime volunteer at the Cameron Blue & Gold Center and Vacation Bible School, she had a love for crafting. Sharilyn will be remembered as a devoted educator, a passionate advocate for her love of music, and a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Her grace, intellect and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survived by one son, Roger (Marie) McCracken; one brother, Jim (Judy) Lyons all of Cameron, W.V. two grandchildren, Tyler McCracken and Shelby (Cole) Cottrell, one great-granddaughter, Sadie Cottrell, nieces and nephews, Michael (Alicia) Lyons, Jamie (Ron) Melling, and two great-nephews, Cole and Parker Melling. Family will receive friends Tuesday March 19, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 39 Maple Ave. Cameron, W.V. where services will be held Wednesday March 20, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Doug Richardson officiating.
